Artwork Photography Guidelines

High-quality, well-focused images are crucial for presenting your artwork effectively and creating a strong impression. Here are some tips to help you achieve the best results.

    Your artwork

  • Use a high-quality camera and always choose the highest resolution setting.
  • Photograph your artwork in natural daylight to capture true colors. Avoid glass frames to prevent unwanted reflections.
  • Shoot the piece straight on and use a tripod whenever possible to ensure clarity and balance.
  • Zoom in slightly to reduce edge distortion caused by the lens.
  • Highlight details and textures with sharp close-up images. These can be added as additional photos to give viewers a deeper sense of the work.

    Sculptures

  • Use soft, balanced lighting to reveal the form naturally and avoid distracting shadows.
  • Place the sculpture against a clean, neutral background — preferably white — to enhance contrast and keep the attention on the work itself.
  • Include close-up images to showcase materials, textures, and fine craftsmanship.
  • Explore multiple angles to communicate depth, volume, and structure.
  • Frame the piece thoughtfully so it remains the clear focal point of the image.
  • Upload several images to give viewers a complete and engaging perspective of your sculpture.

Edit as needed

Use image editing software on your computer or mobile device to fine-tune your images as needed. You can adjust the contrast, brightness, sharpness, and other parameters to improve the quality of the image and further highlight the details.
