Artist Statement (English)
Since childhood, I have been trying to understand human emotions. Over time, I began to feel that these complex emotions do not belong only to people. I can recognize the same feeling in a person, a tree, an abandoned room, or even in a single patch of color.
I believe people are not lost because they experience an emotion, but because they cannot find someone who shares it. When I stand in front of a painting and encounter my own feelings, I find a sense of relief. That is what I seek in my own practice: to reveal how deeply universal emotions can be.
For this reason, my work is built around emotions rather than images. A single emotion can take many forms, and each series explores a different face of the same feeling.
My paintings exist somewhere between realism and abstraction. I combine realistic figures with unfamiliar spaces, and the spontaneous brushstrokes that have stayed with me since childhood with a more controlled visual language. I primarily work with oil on wood and canvas while incorporating technological elements into my process. To me, these approaches are not opposites but different parts of the same visual language.
I do not want my paintings to lead to a single interpretation. What matters to me is that viewers find something of themselves within the work—perhaps even an emotion they have carried for years without ever finding the words to describe it.
